Report 25/09/14

Post by Nicole Penfold » Thu Sep 25, 2014 1:13 pm

The seas were up a little over the weekend but it was worth the trip with some nice catches of Snapper up to 5 plus kilo. Pearlies were a little harder to find but there are heaps of Trag off the northern reefs. Out from the Gaol the Dot has been producing good Snapper as well. It has been a while but Fish Rock has some nice Kings about amongst the rats.

Bream are on along the river Break walls in good numbers, where the tide change, burley and light gear will increase your chances. Clybucca has a few Flathead, just watch the 36cm size there are stacks of under size about. Whiting are starting to show up around the same area. Up river past Jerseyville is still giving up nice Flathead in the dirty water. Try Belmore River if you’re chasing Bass.

Drummer has been the target fish off the rocks again with some crackers brought in along with the odd Salmon and Tailor.

Smoky Beach has been fishing well for Bream with the Whiting numbers on the increase while Salmon and Tailor are taking Pilchards.

Take care on the Bars
