Repot 18/6/15

Post by subeditor » Thu Jun 18, 2015 1:11 pm

Good things are happening off shore with Cobia making another appearance with the best around the 30 kilo mark but most between 15 and 20 kilo. Off Grassy has been the hot spot for these fish. Out of the same area Snapper are in fair numbers with the odd Pearl Perch and Sampson Fish about. Fish Rock is producing good Kings with a few very nice Snapper in the mix. Out wider Cod are starting to bite, although it is hard fishing unless you are set up with electric gear.
Bream are still in good numbers in the river. Around oyster racks you will get some crackers. Flathead over 60cm have been reported through the river system with some nice fish around Clybucca and Jerseyville. Schoolies have been in numbers around Summer Island down to the Bridge. Still a little quite on the Blackfish scene but the better reports are coming from the Back Creek spots. Weed is hard to come by so bring your own.
The beaches have slowed up a bit with the gutters disappearing, hopefully when the sea drops it will improve.

Take care on the Bars
