The hot run of Mackerel has slowed over the last few days, but this is what they do, I know we will see them back on the moon. In saying that there were a few caught through the week from the grounds off Grassy and the Gaol. Bottom bashers had some success with some fair Snapper and Trag up north. Cobia have been about off the Gaol Grounds with the odd Black Marlin coming in. Heading down to Fish Rock, Yellow Fin, Kings and a few Wahoo have been reported. There are still a big number of Sharks about mostly small Black Tips being a pain. Off the wider grounds the FAD has had a few Dollys around it but the current has been roaring through making it tough to fish.

Our Bar out of the Macleay River can be very dangerous. If you are new at the Bar or an old hand at it you need to take care.

Good Whiting are being caught up river on worms and nippers while Flathead are active throughout the river system. Fisho’s are having a ball with the Kings in the river at the moment using Poppers and skirts. Off the Beaches plenty of Whiting on Smoky, Main beach and Gap Beach with a few Bream and Dart.

Take care on the Bars
