Outside there's still a sprinkling of mackerel around. There are also dolphinfish out wider at the FAD, and cod in the 100m area.

There are a few kings around Fish Rock, and miles of longtail tuna just about everywhere. You can get the longtails pretty much from Scotts Head through to right past Hat Head. They're good fish, with most being 10kg+.

Off the rocks and beaches there's a good run of tailor at the moment. There are plenty of whiting along with bream and dart on Smoky Beach. You just have to dodge the mullet netters.

There's a good run of jew in the McLeay at the moment. Also, even though the water is dirty, we're still getting good flathead out of there. You can also catch bream along the walls.

Please remember that the bass season closes on May 1.
