Offshore: At 10am on Friday 8/12 the water temp. at the FAD was 19.4° with no mahi mahi to be seen. Further north on the reefs the skipper of Ocean Quest Charters reports plenty of snapper, with a resident thresher shark taking a liking to some of the catch as it's brought up. Trag after dark continue to produce. A few samson and kingfish have been taken.
Beaches: Plenty of small whiting being caught but you have to throw back 10 for every legal one. Salmon remain common.
Rocks: A bit quiet.
Estuary: The Blue Swimmer crabs are now active, so take your pots when you go fishing. As has been the case for some time, the flathead fishing is as good as it gets. Bream are now very active on surface lures. Camo Gulp Sand Worms continue to account for plenty of whiting, and most other species for that matter.
