Weekly Report 4/1/08

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Jan 04, 2008 4:08 pm

Sorry about the lack of reports in recent week, but the holiday season is in overdrive in our part of the world and I'm lucky to remember what day it is.
The intense low pressure system off south east Queensland continues to produce huge seas and will do so for some days to come. As such, little if any can be written about the beach, rock or outside fishing.
Fortunately, beautiful Wallis Lake has provided some terrific fishing. While the flathead fishing is great, the sand whiting fishing is outstanding. Of course traditional baits like beach worms are good, but the sales of poppers and Gulp Sandworms indicates the various tactics now being adopted. The bream angling has been best further up the lake system, in particular around weed beds off Green Point.
A prawn run is currently in progress with most people getting a feed.
