Weekly Report 13/6/08

Offshore: The water has started to cool and the fishing offshore has been average at best. Latitude Rock and The Graveyard are loaded with tailor for those that want to stay in close. The forecast for the next few days indicates that you would be mad to do anything but! As has been the case for the last few winters, leatherjackets have again shown up in numbers that defy comprehension.
Beaches: More great tailor stories mixed with tales of somewhat smaller bream. Beaches north and south of town are all fishing well.
Rocks: Traditional rock fishing for drummer, groper, blackfish and the like is in full swing. The strong offshore winds predicted over the next three to four days might allow access to some decent spots.
Estuary: A mixed bag, with several mulloway caught from both walls over the last week. Plastics, live and dead baits have all worked. The flathead are as active as I've ever seen them for this time of the year and continue to aggressively hit lures. Bream are of course the easiest species to target at the moment. Recent rain has not dramatically effected water quality.
