Weekly Reports 17/7/09

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Jul 17, 2009 2:19 pm

A push of slightly warmer water is sitting just off the coast and with it has arrived massive schools of slimy mackerel. Reefs to north have seen increased kingfish activity and even a few small samson fish. Leatherjackets are starting to get to the levels of past winters. Snapper fishing has been inconsistent. Might be time to get the lobster traps out.
Beaches will hopefully provide a few more tailor and bream this coming weekend as we head towards the new moon and the bigger tides that come with it.
Bream, blackfish, drummer and tailor have all been caught by those fishing the rocks.
The bream and blackfish action in the lake has been erratic.
