The warm blue water is about 15km offshore, just wide of the FAD. This water is holding big schools of bait but as yet few predators. The small kingfish I mentioned last week are still around, as are the trag after dark. Seal Rocks is still the place to go for quality snapper.
The beach fishing has been slow, as have the rocks.
Estuary fishing has really improved with multiple captures of large mulloway coming from the breakwalls. In almost all cases these fish have been taken on soft plastics. Sand whiting are becoming very aggressive towards all manner of poppers. Flathead are now very active, taking most baits and lures. The bass fishing in the area has really improved since the recent heavy rains.
