Weekly Report 3/9/10

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:40 pm

Estuary: The Tuncurry breakwall has started to produce mulloway. Although slow with mainly small soapies, one report early in the week was of a larger fish around 12lb being landed on a 9” soft plastic. Bream seem to be everywhere at the moment and are happy to grab a bait or the serious fishers have been very successful around The Paddock and the leases on 2” Gulp soft plastics. With the warm weather starting to come around, flathead are arriving. Forster Estuary Charters landed seven keepers near the Wallamba River entrance last Monday morning.
Rock: Still plenty of drummer around, but the last week of great weather and calm seas has started to thin them down a little. Bream are biting around Janie’s Corner.
Offshore: The guys fishing the reefs over the last week have reported snapper on the bite with the leatherjackets thinning out slowly. Nice reds up to 3kg have been landed. The moon has provided great fishing after dark if you want to chase trag.
Beach: Salmon seem to be the only species on offer at the moment with a few Tailor amongst them.
We will be having our % Off Grand Opening Sale this weekend with plenty of good specials on offer. Saturday 8am – 5pm, Sunday 9am – 3pm.
