Weekly Report 2/4/11

Post by Tony Zann » Sat Apr 02, 2011 11:13 am

Estuary: The breakwall has produced some nice mulloway around 7kg over the past week. The big ones that have been missing for most of the summer should start to return over the next few weeks. Enormous amounts of live bait of all descriptions can be found in the main channel and are proving the most effective bait for the jew. Good bream are being caught right around the lake with outstanding fish coming out of the Coolongolook River. Plenty of mullet will provide an alternative to those sick of catching bream and flathead.
Rock: Again, no reports.
Offshore: Reports from Seal Rocks indicate snapper are active with plenty of fish around 4kg caught on plastics and fresh garfish. Reports also from down south of smaller jew and good schools of ocean garfish.
Beach: Great dawn and dusk high tides at the moment are making for some steady tailor and bream fishing. Tuncurry Beach is proving to be the best with some fish over 65cm. Janies Corner is firing as well with mixed bags of tailor, salmon and the odd nice bream.
