Weekly Report 15/6/12

Estuary: Not a bad week in the lake with plenty of luderick being caught along the breakwalls plus the edges of most of the oyster racks. Again green weed is hard to come by, as some anglers have decided that they need to strip everything out that they can get their hands on. Remember, guys, it is there for all to use! Some good reports of plate-size flathead along the Breckenridge Channel plus up from the Tuncurry boat ramp in behind Tern Island. Still nice bream around – try the Fish Co Op wharf for fish around 35cm on mullet gut.
Rock: Miles of drummer off Bennetts Head along with some good blackfish. Toads seem to have thinned out a bit, which will save gear. Spearos tell me that good jewfish are schooling along the rocks at Janies Corner in good numbers, along with plenty of healthy bream.
Offshore: Same as last week although I did get a report from Seal Rocks area that pearl perch are somewhere aroundthat area.
Beach: They have arrived – salmon are everywhere and they are big. Northern end of Seven Mile is fishing well and so is One Mile, but not many tailor among them. Still plenty of bream along most beaches happily taking mullet strips or pilchard baits.
