Weekly Report 26/10/12

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Oct 26, 2012 2:40 pm

Estuary: A few bream have come back and are feeding along the Tuncurry Breakwall near the Co-op. Flathead are active along the Breckenridge Channel up near Barclays Oysters, while still a few good solid reports of whiting near the Step. Plenty of tailor in the lake, although small many are still the legal 30cm. Best spot for these is near the bridge after dark.
Rock: Not many reports however a few spearos tell me that the drummer are in good numbers along most of the local rocky shores. Just north of Janies Corner along the rocks a few guys have been successful on the jewfish with by-catch of Bream.
Offshore: Still plenty of flathead on the gravel. Greg Horan and crew got among the trag on Tuesday plus a bonus of 6 good-sized nannygai. Greg also ended up with a few snapper to around 1.5kg to finish the day.
Beach: Still a few guys reporting mulloway are on most beaches from south near The Pines up to as far north as Crowdy Head. Tailor have started well this week with most mornings early along Tuncurry Beach rewarding anglers with good catches. A few salmon caught at Tiona last weekend, but no further reports later in the week.
