Estuary: Wallis Lake has cleaned up nicely with most species back on the bite. Whiting are back on the flats and are happily chasing surface poppers and the bait guys tell me sandworms are working a treat. Miles of good flathead in the Breckenridge Channel plus big fish being caught in the inlet at the back of Godwin Island. Tuncurry and Forster breakwalls continue to fish well with plenty of jewfish. Gulp 6” Nemesis worked in the tide are the pick of the plastics on the wall.
Rock: Most rock ledges starting to fish well. Plenty of bonito and good bream (40cm plus) near Janies Corner. Charlottles Head has produced a few striped and mack tuna but no reports as yet of any longtails.
Offshore: Flathead on the 40m mark are still there, plenty of reds around on the reefs up north along with good morwong off blackhead. The FAD is hit and miss – plenty of dollies but all just under size!
Beach: Beaches have cleaned up nicely this week. Formations are there on some while others are still a bit flat. Good reports of tailor along Seven Mile while southern beaches are fishing well for school jew at night. Plenty of bream from Diamond Beach early morning taking bonito fillets.
