Weekly Report 29/11/13

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Nov 29, 2013 10:02 pm

Estuary
A good week along the break wall with some pleasing reports of large Jewfish lurking around. Soft plastics and live bait has been the pick of the baits. Sand flats have started to show good signs of sand whiting, and lure fishers have reported that surface poppers like Sugapens are working a treat. Bait fishos are getting big whiting using beachworms. A few good blackfish have been landed along the back of the old Boatland marine and squid at night along this shore are plentiful. Flathead are taking plastics and whitebait on the drift.

Rock
There are plenty of good size bream up near Blackhead at the northern end of Nine Mile on sunset. Reporters tell me that a good berley mix brings them on but you then have to deal with all the other rubbish.

Offshore
Pearl perch down south and Trag are everywhere. Reefs are providing anglers with plenty of plate size snapper. There are a few reports of Dollys at the FAD and rat Kings taking lures in that same area.

Beach
Not many updates received. A smattering of Tailor are around, along with a few sharks. Big Salmon caught early in the week down off Santa Barbara.
