Another sensational week in the lake and along the breakwalls. Blackfish in big numbers off Tuncurry Point with fish around the 35cm mark common. Bream are in an abundance! Plenty of bream everywhere with the wall fishing very well near the Fish Co op. Further into the Lake the baths at Little street is a good pick at night while boaters can try amongst the racks. Hang on as I have heard that fish up to 45cm are getting dragged out of the leases. Bonito or Stripy Tuna fillets are the best baits as are sand worms. Tuncurry wall is still producing plenty of good Jewfish. Live Yakkas are working well although 3 good fish around the 90cm mark have been taking 9” Panther Martin lures. A few Leather Jackets are along the Point Road shoreline.

A few good reports of Groper along near Burgess Rocks while big Tailor are schooling up still at Janies Corner. Further south Spearos tell me that good Jewfish are lurking around Boomerang Point. Charlottes Head is still getting a work out but this week no real positive feedback.

Flathead at the 39m mark straight out off the breakwall entrance. Pan size snapper north near Blackhead. Commercial guys are still getting plenty of Bonito on metal lures although a few customers chasing them for bait are getting them on cubed Pilchard. Sharks are back in big numbers with a few guys getting their Trag taken on the surface by sharks.

Plenty of good XOS Greenback Tailor around on Nine Mile plus up the northern end of Seven Mile. Reports from Diamond Beach are that the Tailor are on the bite on dusk taking ganged Pilchards. Sweep and Bream are there in close in the wash as well taking worms. A few Good legal Jewfish caught off Farquer last Sunday night.
