Report 12/09/14

Estuary: Still a strong week in the lake for the Luderick fishos with the breakwall and the lake firing. Further up the lake near Mosquito Island the flathead have arrived and last Sunday were taking anything thrown at them. Soft Plastics in a jerkbait style was working the best while the bait guys got amongst them using Hawkesbury Prawns unweighted on a slow drift.

Rock: No above water reports but a few spearos tell me that the Drummer are thick along most shorelines. Bream, Blackfish and a few platesize reds are there to catch as well.

Offshore: Some decent reports are coming in from the charter operators who have managed to get out this week. Good catches of Snapper around the 40cm mark have been common along with Flathead on the gravel beds around 60cm. Pigfish, Mowies and a few Pearl Perch are amongst the catches as well.

Beach: A week where the beaches went flat! A few guys have struggled but have come home with a few Tailor, while down south we hear that a few Whiting have started to mill around. Tuncurry Beach is flooded with big schools of Rays and shovelnose sharks happily chomping away on pillys. A good fight but not you really want to catch.
