Estuary: Local anglers are reporting that the Whiting are now in big schools up in the top reaches of the Lake around the Step and are happy to take beach worms or Gulp soft plastic worms. Although only Trumpter Whiting at the moment sizes up to the 30cm mark are common. Remember that Trumpter have no size limit but bag limits of 20 fish still apply! Flathead are still in good numbers and size with 45cm a common size and they too will be landed on either baits or soft plastics. Guys using the Ecooda Live Shrimp lures have had outstanding results. Land based anglers should try Breckenridge Channel or the back southern side of Tern Island. Mudcrabs around near The Cut in the Wallamba River plus up as far as Failford while the Sand Flats down near Green Point are loaded with Blue Swimmer crabs.

Rock: Ken Nicholson fished the rocks near Burgess on Tuesday for a feed of Drummer only to come home with a couple of Gropher. Plenty of Blackfish around the rocks down from Pebbly Beach while most other outcrops still have a good feed of Bream to be caught.

Offshore: This week with the change of weather has certainly rewarded anglers with plenty of good mixed boxs hitting the cleaning tables. Flathead are still in abundance, while a few good plate size snapper were caught early in the week down off Latitude rocks. Most fish maxed out at 3kg with plenty of fish in the 1.5 – 2kg mark to be caught. Plenty of Red rock cod everywhere.

Beach: A few school Jew have been caught on Tuncurry Beach up against the Breakwall at night along with the odd Thumper Bream coming out of the white water. Plenty of Sand Whiting up off Diamond Beach taking beach worms early morning.
