Estuary: Last weeks prawn dark showed that this summer will may well see plenty of prawns on the move throughout the Lake. Great catches were achieved with cotton scoops while also a few guys got plenty in drag nets at Mungo Brush plus at the Great lakes Sailing Club. Next dark is at the end of the month so get the nets ready. The Forster side of the breakwalls are again producing some big mulloway, with quite a few stories coming in of the 'one that got away' plus the ones that were caught. Fish weighing in this week at 70lb, 55lb & 30lb were recorded plus plenty of legal fish around the 10lb mark have been common. Whole Squid and live bait have accounted for most of these fish. As mentioned over the last few weeks, the flathead and whiting fishing has been very good, with beachworms as bait ensuring a fish with most casts. Sales of Sugapen 70 poppers have been booming with plenty of people walking them on the surface for outstanding results on whiting. Ecooda Live Shrimp prawn lures have also been deadly on flathead with some guys getting a easy 10 fish in a short time while working the flats on the run out tide. Mudcrabs are plentiful in both the lake and the Wallamba River.

Rock: Fairly quite again with big seas and on shore winds not helping. I presume most of the normal haunts will get results.

Offshore: With 20 to 30 knots of wind throughout most of the week most boats stayed on the trailer. Some guys ventured out early before the seabreeze gets up for some good results. Good catches of Flathead are being caught on the gravel drift. Down south a few guys on Tuesday got a feed of Kingfish using live baits. Only reports from the reefs was an assortment of small to medium snapper along with a bucket load of rubbish fish.

Beach: Diamond Beach has plenty of Bream and Whiting along with Back beach at Blackhead. Heaps of small chopper tailor around that are really only just keepers.
