Report 4/12/15

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Dec 04, 2015 3:55 pm

Estuary: The Flathead have again been outstanding in the lake over the last week with most anglers coming home with a smile. One report came in from a visiting customer who managed 8 fish over 50cm on Wednesday arvo on the run out tide using Zman soft plastics dipped in Ultrabite. The early morning Whiting haul continues with most getting a bag limit of 20 fish each day. Some of the Trumpter Whiting are of a good size with over 30 cm common. The pick of the baits is again beach worm pieces. Along with that reports are that some nice Sand whiting are amongst them with some around the high 30cm mark. Oyster Racks opposite Barclays Shed have had some thumper bream around at dusk and have been taking small hard bodies or a live shrimp lure.

Rock: A rather quite week to report on. Very little reports have come in other than a few Tailor being spun up and a few good Bream off Boomerang taking cunjevoi.

Offshore: Shane Crockett for Forster Sport & Game Fishing Charters has reported that there is plenty of snapper off The Hawke along with a good mixed box of Pigfish, Blue spot Flathead and a few Nannygai to top it off. If anyone is looking for a good charter that will get you on the fish give Shane a call on 0413 475 233.

Beach: Whiting have been plentiful along Tuncurry Beach along with a few Dart and some Bream. A few scattered Tailor are there plus Shovel Nose Sharks have also started to appear for their Summer pilgrimage.
