The fishing lately hasn't been red hot, but it's been ok. Out wide there's still the odd marlin, believe it or not, and a couple of sightings of yellowfin – but no real catches as yet. It will be interesting to see what the results are at the Bermagui yellowfin comp.

Around the island the bonito are still going ballistic, and there are still a few legal kings. There's heaps of bait, with all different size slimies. Anglers have been getting into snapper and morwong. There's the odd toad and leatherjacket around, but they're not as bad as they were (if you find them just move). The flathead fishing has been really good, and there's the odd gummy as well.

Most estuaries have been producing good schools of flatties. There are heaps of bream and trevally, and the salmon and tailor are moving in which is good.

It's a similar story along the beaches, with plenty of salmon and tailor. The bait boys are using pillies and the lure fishers are using 25-40g metals.

You can pick up the odd bonito off the rocks throwing poppers etc.
