Weekly Report 17 Jul 12 - Donnybrook

There are a few flathead around here but are not as plentiful as a few weeks ago. Try Gallagher’s Gutter, Dunlop’s Gutter Tony’s Gutter from Lime Pocket and the mouth of Glassy for feed. The whiting have gone off a bit and only a few around at the moment. They are best from the mouth of Glassy and from Poverty creek. The bream are around in fair numbers and are best from the creek mouths, the weed beds, from the 112’s, the Jetty, from the oyster leases. and from the rocky bottoms. They are also worth a try around the mouth of Glassy. There is the odd mud crab around but they are a little small as yet and need a couple of weeks to make the grade. There were a few snapper around before the last rain and Whitepatch and Mission Point would be the go for the odd snapper. Talk to Darren at Donnybrook Tackle and Takeaway; 54988247

There are a few fish around the Donnybrook area but they are not as plentiful here as they usually are. Try for a few flathead around Gallagher’s and the like, there are a few sand whiting around but they have gone off a little lately. The bream are OK and they are still coming from their usual haunts especially from around the creek mouths and weed beds. They are also on the go around Glassy and you might try Glassy for the odd good grunter as well. There seems to be a few mud crabs around but are a bit small yet so they need a few weeks to make size. Before that last lot of rain there were a few snapper around Whitepatch. The Bribie area has been pretty quiet but there are still a few mulloway around the Bridge and down around Buckley’s Hole. There are a few bream coming from the canals and from the jetty. The odd good flathead is coming from the Sylvain Beach area and there are lots of small snapper in the same area but they are mostly undersize fish. There are few flathead around the Beachmere area and also a few good winter whiting showing up around the 1 mile peg over around Beachmere.
