This area has the same problems as the rest of the passage. – No bait no fish. However there are good numbers of winter whiting coming from the Cockle Banks, the red buoy and the mouth of the Pearl Channel. There are flathead with the whiting but the better quality is from opposite Cornets, from Buckley’s Hole, from the Bridge, from Sylvain Beach and from Sandstone Point. There are a few snapper coming from the Ripples but some are undersize so watch the size you keep. There have been a few Mulloway around and are coming from Buckley’s Hole and from the Bridge area. There have been a few cod taken from under the bridge. There are some bream around and are best from the Jetty, from the canals and from under the bridge. The offshore fishing seems to be OK if you can get out there and there are good schools of yellowtail kingfish around Hutchies that are giving plenty of fun. Also a few good snapper down at Tempest and a few fair reef fish around the Cape Reefs.
