BEACHMERE: Talk to Charlie or the boys from the Beachmere Sportfishing Club
There have been some good size fish taken up the river past Monty’s during the last week. The Legend landed some good size tailor and Bream, on live bait, and a few small mud crabs are starting to appear. It is early days for the muddies yet and there are a lot of undersize and empty mud crabs around. Be careful as you go up the river as we have a submerged beacon in the channel and it appears to have been like that for a while. Also be aware that if you are night fishing we have no lights on any beacons up in that area so safety is first priority for all our fisho's. The Beachmere Sport's Fishing Club has written to our local Councillor for some advice and guidance and we will see where we go from there. Still some weed in the river, but for the fisho's that persist, you will catch a feed of flathead, bream or whiting. Cheers J. D.
