There are a few summer whiting on the Southern Beaches left over from the netters of a couple of weeks ago, There are a few bream about, mainly in the canals, and some are reasonable fish. There were a couple of top quality mulloway taken from Buckley’s Hole over the past week they weighed in at around 20kg – good fish in anyone’s language There are also the odd mulloway around the bridge area. The flathead are still around here but are not as good as a few weeks ago. They should pick up over the next couple of weeks. Try around opposite Cornets, from the Jetty, also from under the bridge and from Sandstone Point. There have been a few small snapper taken from around the Ripples and from the Sylvain canals. The winter whiting are still around in good numbers if you can get some decent weather to get out to them. They are best from the Cockle Banks, and around the Red Buoy. There have been a few good quality sand crabs around and are best from below the bridge. No mud crabs yet. There has been no fishing offshore as the weather has been too bad.
