Weekly Report 19 Dec 12

Post by Brad » Wed Dec 19, 2012 7:20 pm

Merry Xmas to you all .Some xmas wish lists items arrived early with the massive tides on the western side of Moreton Island ,some nice spotties turned up in front of Tangalooma Resort just of the beach, mixed with some schoolies, lots of bait balls on Monday 17th ..which is a very good indication of a nice long season, as usual metal slugs were the go, try and not use wire in the bay you will find you're strike rate will increase big time, a double line to the lure is all you need..or a 2 foot trace of 40 lb to 50 line is ideal.Try also not to use a swivel as the little critters will be biting you off at the swivel especially if you throw in the middle of a feeding school. I would suggest the western side of Moreton Island will be pretty good mackerel fishing for the next 2 to 3 weeks with SE to NE winds expected so the bait will tend to congregate in the calm of the island.

As mentioned yesterday about the mackerel, today the front of the wrecks and resort looked like the side to side fishing for taylor on Frazer Island, only deference they are all catching mackerel ..so if you can get there soon you wont miss out..
