Fishing OK for winter whiting from the Southern Beaches, they are best from Red Beach, Buckley’s Hole and the sand flats. There are a few bream around and are good quality fish. They are best from Tiger Rocks, from the Bridge and the Jetty. A few good flathead around and are best from Cornets, Buckley’s Red Beach, and the bridge. There are a few decent snapper coming from Tiger Rocks, Cooks Rocks and from the Ripples. There are some sand crabs around and are best below the bridge. The offshore fishing has been very good with good snapper from around the Cape reefs as well as good numbers of Pearlies. Out wider there have been good Spaniards, Spotted mackerel, Cobia and also a few sails. Off Wide Caloundra there are big bait schools and lots of big pelagics with them with some huge cobia and big Spaniards around them. Worth a look here.
