Cloudy but nice and calm and as many whales around the hope bank beacons as you would want to see ,it was amazing pity it was cloudy most of the time and the photos all look like black and white ,while drifting with them one decided to come and eyeball us so close i think the whiting master and i needed new undies..but it was amazing.
we finally went of to get a few whiting in the small boat channel and were not disappointed a little hard to find but when you did you could get as many as you wanted they were closer to the chain banks rather then the deeper weed banks or the shallows.
The schoolies were there but the ones we hooked on were undrsize and to be honest we missed the perfect tide for them this morning because we whale watched instead.i think friday saturday will be the days if the predictions are good for a mackerel fish i think the sandhills and rainbow channel might be worth trying.
