With Spring here already, it looks like we are set for some good fishing over the school holidays. The Border and Western rivers are still producing a lot of small Cod with the odd legal one being landed. Spinnerbaits and live bait are seeing the best results. Coolmunda Dam, on the eastern side of Inglewood, is certainly worth a look as several anglers are landing some quality Yellowbelly on live crays. Try in the timber towards the Greenup end.

Leslie and Connelly Dams are both starting to improve. With the warmer weather, some big Goldens have been landed on the flats near the concrete boat ramps on Jaz Syclon 50 and Atomic Shads. Live worms or frozen prawns are also worth a try. The two local Bass dams, Moogerah and Maroon, have been very consistent over the past few weeks with some great Bass being landed. These fish are in excellent condition with some tipping the scales at 1.8kg. Try fishing the edges using small crank baits such as Jackall Chubby’s ot Atomic Crank 38 Deeps. If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
