Weekly Report 22 Sep 11

Post by Brad » Thu Sep 22, 2011 7:24 pm

With the school holidays in full swing, there are heaps of anglers on the move. The Southern Downs impoundments and rivers are all fishing quite well. Leslie Dam is certainly worth a look. Most fish are to the back of the dam, up near Rocklands. There was a nice 25 pound Cod landed on a worm recently. The lure anglers are picking up a few fish in the main basin across from the wall. Try casting the points using 50mm to 60mm lures. The rivers around Warwick and to the south are still producing some quality fish. There have been good numbers of Golden Perch and Cod landed in most areas. Bassman Spinnerbaits with over-sized blades are seeing good results. River 2 Sea Diver Frogs are also worth a try.

The Bass Dams to the east of the Divide, Moogerah and Maroon, are fishing quite well. There has been some quality fish caught on the edges at Moogerah. Try fishing the points opposite the boat ramp using small crank baits. If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
