Weekly Report 3 Nov 11

Post by Brad » Thu Nov 03, 2011 1:51 pm

With the warmer weather here so are the fish with good numbers being landed from all local impoundments and rivers.

Leslie Dam, on the outskirts of Warwick, is certainly worth a look with good numbers of Golden Perch being landed. Most anglers are casting the edges with TN60 Jackalls. There have been some solid Cod on the move, with a 20 pounder being landed at Leslie on a Spinnerbait and a 40 pounder from Connelly on live bait. The local rivers are also worth fishing with some good fish being landed close to the town reaches. Live shrimp are plentiful at the moment and would be the bait of choice.

Coolmunda Dam, to the east of Inglewood, is fishing hot at the moment with some quality Cod being landed between 15 and 45 pounds. Bassman Spinnerbaits accounted for the 45 pounder. There has also been some good Yellows landed on live bait and lures. On the Bass seen, Moogerah is fishing excellent. There have been reports of fish being landed all over the dam, casting the edges with small Spinnerbaits or fishing the timber using Jackalls and 3/8 Blades. The Bass at Moogerah seem to be very aggressive at the moment so keep your drag up tight.

If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
