Weekly Report 1 May 12

Leslie Dam: Things haven’t changed much in any of the locations locally. Leslie Dam is still fishing very well on bait. Local anglers are still reporting good bag numbers of Yellowbelly, with Cod starting to move around due to the cooler weather. Jackalls and Blades are still accounting for some nice fish for the lure angler.

Connelly Dam: Spinnerbaits seem to be accounting for most of the fish at Connelly. Live worms are the number one choice for the bait fishermen.

Moogerah Dam: Moogerah is still producing some nice Bass. The Bass tend to slow down a little in the cooler weather, so you will have to work harder for them. Jackalls and Spinnerbaits seem to be the lures of choice at present with the odd one being caught on a Blade. Maroon is always a harder dam to fish. Fly seems to be accounting for most of the fish, casting into the weed.

Rivers: The rivers are still producing some nice Cod. There was a report of a local angler landing some nice Cod. He caught most of them on a black surface popper. The Cod will really start to fire up now as the weather cools down.

If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
