Weekly Report 30 Aug 12

Leslie Dam: There have been a few good fish on the move at Leslie. Up towards the “Black Boys” and on the western bank seems to be the places to try. There have been a few catties caught near the concrete boat ramps using live bait. There have been reports of a few Yellowbelly caught trolling in front of the Washpool on hard bodies. Casting the edges using 50mm Jackalls is also working well.

Connelly Dam: Connelly is starting to heat up a little. As the water temperature increases, the fish will become more active. Live worms always work well at Connelly off the bank. We have had a few reports of some small Cod on the move.

Moogerah Dam / Maroon Dam: Both Bass dams are producing some nice fish. Live shrimp seems to be working very well at Maroon. At Moogerah, the schooled Bass are still present in the main basin. They are still falling to Ice-Jigs as well as slow hopped Mask Vibes. The timber and edges are also worth a try.

Rivers: There have been reports of some nice Cod and Yellows landed to the South of Warwick. Murray Cod are still hitting surface lures as well as spinnerbaits. Purple seems to be the standout colour. There have also been some nice Golden Perch landed on Hydrobugs.

If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
