Weekly Report 3 Oct 12

Leslie Dam: Leslie has been fishing very well over the past week with some quality fished landed on bait (live and frozen) and lures. The lure anglers are having success on darker coloured spinnerbaits as well as hard body lures. The water is starting to warm up in the main basin which is seeing some good fish on the move. There has been some legal sized Murray Cod landed during the week on lures and bait. Most of the Cod landed are close to the edge so try not to fish in water that is too deep.

Connelly Dam: Land based anglers are having mixed results at Connelly. There has been a few fish landed on the eastern bank on live bait. Lures have been a little slow. We haven’t received any reports of Cod being landed at Connelly.

Moogerah Dam / Maroon Dam: Not much has changed at these two impoundments over the past week. There have been some nice Bass landed in the main basin and in the timber. Mask Vibe Jackalls are still working well when being hopped slowly off the bottom. Maroon has seen some nice fish being landed on spinnerbaits and small bibbed lures. Most anglers have been fishing the weed edges on the southern bank. Live shrimps are working well too.

Rivers: The Dalrymple Creek around Allora is still fishing very well with anglers reporting good numbers landed on lures. Purple lures are working well at present. Pikes Creek, to the south of Warwick, is also worth a look as there has been some nice fish landed on spinnerbaits recently. A few small Cod as well as the odd Golden Perch have been landed on the town reaches of Warwick using live bait.
