Weekly Report 4 Feb 13

Leslie Dam: Leslie is starting to improve with some nice fish being landed up the back of the dam at Rocklands. Both lures and live bait seem to be working. For the lure fisherman, darker coloured spinnerbaits are working very well. Anglers are reporting of some floating debris in the dam so be very careful.

Connelly Dam: Connelly Dam is fishing quite well at present, probably the best of our local impoundment dams. Anglers are landing some nice fish on both lures and bait. Spinnerbaits are working very well with smaller profiled bibbed lures, such as the Atomic Shiners, are also landing some nice fish. We have had reports of some Cod being landed on surface.

Moogerah Dam / Maroon Dam: Moogerah There isn’t much to report on our local Bass dams. Both dams have been hit pretty hard with flood waters over the past few weeks. It will be all worth it once they start to settle down.

Storm King Dam: Storm King near Stanthorpe is fishing extremely well at present. Anglers are reporting on good numbers being landed, particularly on soft plastics. It is certainly worth the drive.

Rivers: The Condamine River in the town area is still quite dirty. Once this settles and starts to clear, the fish will be on again. There have been reports of some nice Yellowbelly being landed to the east of Warwick. Jaz spinnerbaits are accounting for most of these fish.

If you are in the local area, make sure you call in to Warwick Outdoors and Sports and say g’day to John and Wayne - for expert advice on all your fishing (from kids combo to tournament rigs), boating, hunting and camping requirements.
