Weekly Report 21 Aug 13

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has been reasonably quiet this week with only the odd fish landed on bait. These fish were caught on frozen shrimps and salt water yabbies. The most successful spots were across from the dam wall around the rocky structure and along the western bank. The lure anglers also struggled with not too many legal fish being landed. Most of the fish seem to be located in the deeper water.

CONNOLLY DAM: Things still remain quiet at Connolly with only a few fish being landed off the bank on bait. We had a report of a local angler landing a couple of
undersized Cod on the rocky point on the north eastern bank.

MOOGERAH: The Bass at Moogerah are still schooled in the main basin. These fish have experienced quite a bit of pressure over the past few weeks with anglers having to try a variety of techniques to entice a bite. Blades, ice-jigs and mask vibes are still working well. However, slow retrieved soft plastics seem to be the most successful option at the moment. There were also a few fish landed off the edges on Jackalls and spinnerbaits.

RIVERS/CREEKS: The rivers and creeks around the local area have quietened down a little with the odd fish being landed on bait in the town area. We had reports of a few Golden Perch landed below Scots College and downstream of the Bacon Factory. There were some larger fish landed on the eastern side of Warwick around Murrays Bridge and Emu Vale. There were also some nice Silver Perch landed in this area. There were also some nice legal sized Murray Cod landed in the Pratten area on yabbies.
