Weekly Report 18 Apr 14

Post by Brad » Fri Apr 18, 2014 5:55 pm

LESLIE DAM: With the school holidays drawing to an end and with the Easter long weekend, this weekend will see things very busy with both fishing and skiing boat traffic. There are still plenty of nice fish being landed on live and frozen bait as well as lures. Local anglers have been having a lot of success in various parts of the dam, particularly in the main basin and up near the Black Boys. Hard and soft Jackalls seem to be accounting for most of the fish in the deep water in the main basin. Spinnerbaits are working well in and around the rocky structure.

CONNOLLY DAM: Fishing at Connolly Dam has been fairly consistent over the school holidays. We have received reports of some good quality Golden Perch being landed on saltwater yabbies off the bank. Local anglers are also having success flicking lures up near the dam wall.

MOOGERAH/MAROON: Moogerah continues to fish quite well. Things haven't been quite as good as the previous week, mainly due to the boat traffic with the school holidays. Easter will see huge amounts of boat traffic so it would be best to get as far up the back of the dam or up in the timber on the southern end. Anglers are also having some luck at Maroon, particularly early morning in surface lures. Maroon will also be busy over the Easter break.

RIVERS/CREEKS: The Dalrymple Creek has been fishing very well over the past week or so. There has been some nice Golden Perch landed as well as a few lovely Murray Cod. There were also some lovely Golden Perch and Murray Cod landed in the Killarney area on lures. Local anglers had success trolling lures from their kayaks in the Condamine River just below the Scots Weir. There were also some nice fish landed in the Condamine at Queens Park. There has also been a few nice fish landed
in the Pratten area.

Happy Easter,
