Report 12/3/15

Post by subeditor » Thu Mar 12, 2015 2:22 pm

LESLIE DAM: There was a slight improvement on previous weeks at Leslie, with reports of some quality Golden Perch landed in the main basin along the western bank opposite the concrete boat ramps. These fish were landed on shrimps and saltwater yabbies. The lure anglers also reported on more activity than previous weeks, with blades and TN60 Jackalls working well. One local angler had success while trolling Hydrobugs around the Black Boys. He managed to land a 67cm Murray Cod and 4 legal sized Golden Perch.

CONNOLLY DAM: The kayak anglers had the best results at Connolly Dam over the weekend. We received several reports of smaller Murray Cod being caught and released. Most of these fish were landed while trolling hard body lures. We also received reports of some nice Silver Perch and Catfish being landed on worms off the bank.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam has been fishing very well over the past week or so. We received several reports of quality fish being landed on lures and bait. There were numerous legal sized Murray Cod and plenty of Golden Perch landed over the weekend on spinnerbaits and larger hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River to the east of Warwick has been the most productive fishing spot again this week. This is due mainly to the clarity of the water. We received reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed in the Killarney area. There was also a lovely 72cm Murray Cod caught and released on a Luckycraft Keroll Max. The town area of Warwick has been a little slow. A Scots College boarder landed a lovely Golden Perch on a spinnerbait.

PRODUCT REVIEW

13 Fish Omen Black: the Omen Black series of rods feature 30 Ton Toray Japanese graphite blanks, Evolve Titanium framed guides with Zirconium inserts and fully custom Evolve reel seats and handles.

The high quality Toray Graphite used in all our blanks produces a powerful, sensitive and lightweight blank that we have tuned to produce an excellent range of lengths, tapers and line weights to cover every light tackle sportfishing application in Australia. Evolve Titanium framed guides keep the weight down and corrosion a thing of the past, whilst the Zirconium used in the rings is so hard and smooth you will never need to worry. Top this all off with custom designed Evolve reel seats and handles that aid in transmitting vibrations from the sensitive tip through to your hand and you are left with one incredible, lightweight fishing rod that will be sure to impress.
