Report 29/6/15

Post by subeditor » Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:55 am

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam have had some good results over the past week. Several anglers have landed some quality Golden Perch in the main basin. The majority of these fish have been landed on shrimps and saltwater yabbies. A few of these fish measured in excess of 50cm. There were also a few Golden Perch landed towards the back of the dam but most of the action has been in closer to the boat ramps. Mask vibes, blades and 70mm Piranhas have also been working well.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam reasonable quiet. There have been a few big Catfish caught on worms over the past week. We also received reports of a few Golden and Silver Perch landed on bait.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Murray Cod have been very active at Coolmunda, with several legal sized fish being landed over the past week or so. These fish have measured up to 87cm in length. Trolling hard body lures is a method that is working well at present.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Anglers at Maroon managed to land some nice Bass on shrimps over the weekend. There were also a few quality Bass landed in the timber to the east of the boat ramp on shrimps. Weedless rigged Keitech Swing Impacts also worked well in the weed beds.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to fish quite well. One local angler landed a lovely 73cm Murray Cod on a JMH Spinnerbait on Sunday morning in the Canningvale area. We also received reports of several Golden Perch being landed on shrimps and crays in various spots in the town area. Anglers fishing to the south of Warwick, around Stanthorpe and Ballandean, also managed to land some nice fish. Spinnerbaits worked very well in these areas.
