Weekly Report 28 Mar 12

Post by Brad » Wed Mar 28, 2012 6:25 pm

This weekend is shaping up as one of the better ones for the year so far,( Not much to beat ) With all the rain over the past month it's been hard to get onto any decent fish. The water is still murky but is definitely on the improve with some better catches happening over the past few days. The whiting are still around the Nth eastern tip of Sth Straddie with some decent size catches among them, but you will have to perservere, Fresh yabbies are the go.

Some good reports of Bream & flathead in different areas, the main spots being Kalinga bank, Nth tip of Crusoe Island but find yourself a nice drop off and you will be in with a chance. One angler trolling hard plastics in the shallows produced some quality flatties so if your having no luck mix up your techniques. Still some nice crabs around but the deeper holes are the go. For a safe bet I will be working the areas close to the Pin Bar entrance nearest Nth Straddie with a mixture of pillies, prawns and livies. The fishing is always very unpredictable after a good drop of rain so you just don't know what you may hook. Safe boating, Happy fishing HOO ROO
