Weekly Report 25 Jun 12

Finally got back on the water after having the boat re-powered with a Suzuki 90 4 stroke and had a great day. Headed straight out to the Pin and fished until the wind picked right up, plenty of tailor around but most were undersize. Landed a couple of nice ones on pilles and trolled metal slugs for a while which produced 2 quality size fish.

Tried the north eastern tip of Crusoe Island next and there was plenty of pickers with the occasional bream over the 30cm mark showing up. Picked up a nice flattie on soft plastics but the wind was getting unbearable. Moved around into Whalley's gutter for some protection and had instant success on both pillies & prawns getting a few nice size bream & flatties. I even hooked up a decent tailor on a Sebile Flat shad which was great fun. A few guys close by were having a field day on the flatties with fresh yabbies so I may not be so anxious next time to get a rod in the water.

Not too much on the crabbing scene with only 1 sand crab but they are still worth a try as you just never know your luck. Just like to finish with a big thankyou to Michael & the boys from Springwood marine for doing an excellent job on the re-power. Until next time Safe Boating, Happy Fishing & HOO ROO.
