Cooby Dam
With not the greatest of weather this past week due to the very windy days, a few anglers still caught good amounts of yellow belly and smaller cod, trolling still being the most productive. Tn60’s and shallow hard bodies like the Cooby Cobba has worked well during the low light periods, as the day gets the warmer the fish are moving deeper and still biting reasonably well, Zx Blades and Soft Jackalls being the lure of choice. The bait anglers also having success on Saltwater Yabbies and Worms.

Cressbrook Dam
Better fishing this past week with a few anglers getting onto some Bass and the odd yellow belly, Most of the fish are reacting well to a hopped blade or heavy Spoons like the Palms Slow Blatt and Gang Banger G2. Again the Main lake points in the basin are holding the numbers of fish. Trolling anglers also getting good success during the day as the fish get a little harder to tempt.

Leslie Dam
Still being very consistent with some great yellow belly being caught, jigging blades and soft vibes have been very productive during the day, while other anglers trolling large Spinnerbaits are catching some great Cod. Salt Water Yabbies being the bait of choice for the bait anglers.

Somerset Dam
Slowly the fishing is increasing as the hot weather settles in, the trolling anglers are by far having the most success with most of the fish are hard on the bottom, trolling your lures on the shallow flats up at Kirkliegh and Bay 13, still numbers on Pelican Point, targeting these fish with Tailspinners has been the lure of choice.

Glenlyon
We fished Glenlyon for a few days during the week and had some great success, this lake is shaping up to fish very well for the school holidays in a few weeks time, quite a few anglers had success on a variety of lures, either casting or trolling have both been productive. Large Spinnerbaits and Mumblers fished slow around the standing timber while trolling deep hard bodies around the deeper rockier edges was another good technique for some.

Condamine River
With Cod Season up and running the weekend seen some great cod landed from our local river, with a slow flow in the river it really fired up the fish, surface lures fished in the early morning worked very well, while larger spinnerbaits casting towards the sunken structure accumulated good numbers of fish.

Lake Monduran
Last weekend there was some great reports coming in from the dam with a few locals getting up 13 fish in a session, the Jackall Hanktune was by far the successful lure over that time, A good fish finder is key on this lake with its massive body of water and finding where the fish are feeding. Bird Bay and main points up the river arm produced most numbers of fish.

Gold Coast
With a few anglers heading out while the wind was down saw a few small Black marlin being caught trolling skirts close in on the 36’s , with colder mornings the snapper have still been on the bite on the 54 fathom reefs with the odd Pearl Perch and Trag Jew being caught. The dolphin fish havn’t been in massive numbers this week but still good signs of them being around, live baits on the FAD, North of the Tweed Bar has seen the most numbers being caught.
