BASS
Not a lot has changed at Cressbrook Dam this week; it has again produced a few fish on live Shrimp, around the main point in the Bull Creek arm, while soft plastics and shrimp have been successful around the Eagles Nest area. Quite a lot of fish still showing at Somerset, and getting them to bite has again been a bit difficult, Pelican Point, Bay 13 and the hump have been good spots to target, with slow rolled soft plastics, blades and live shrimp picking up a few fish. It’s been a bit steady again at Boondooma this week, with soft vibes cast to the edges, picking up a few, while Blades and Tailspinners have worked well around the points, blades and live shrimp have picked up a few Bass at Bjelke Peterson and Maroon Dam has produced a few fish this week, with anglers picking up some decent Bass around the weed pockets, soft plastics and crank baits are working the best, with blades also accounting for a few fish.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD
Cooby Dam has seen a few Yellowbelly taking blades and frozen saltwater yabbies in the deeper parts of the dam, while blades and soft vibes have produced a few fish around the weed edges, early morning and late afternoon. Reasonable numbers of Yellowbelly at Coolmunda Dam this week, the drop-offs to the old creek beds and also along the wall have been good spots to target. A bit quiet at Leslie Dam again this week, with low numbers of Yellowbelly taking TN60 Jackalls, cast to the edges, there’s still a few fish taking frozen saltwater yabbies in the main basin and trolled hard bodies accounted for a few Cod up to 75cm, near the rock wall, near the buoy line. Boondooma has seen good quality Yellowbelly taking frozen saltwater yabbies and live shrimp, around the timber, in the Stuart River arm of the dam and Bjelke Peterson has seen a few fish taken on bait around the timber and also on trolled hard bodies in the main basin . As for the rivers, the Macintyre River, upstream of Goondiwindi has seen good numbers of Cod hitting surface lures and bigger spinnerbaits, frozen saltwater yabbies have worked well for Yellowbelly, much the same for the Dumeresq at Texas, surface lures have been effective for Cod, while frozen saltwater yabbies have picked up good numbers of Yellowbelly and the upper reaches of the Condamine River have produced some good quality Cod and Yellowbelly on spinnerbaits, hard bodies and frozen saltwater yabbies.

GOLD COAST
Offshore fishing has again seen good action this week, with the inner reefs fishing well for Snapper and Trag Jew and out wider on the 200 fathom mark has produced some decent size Blue Marlin. Inshore fishing saw the Southport Seaway producing a few Kingies, Tailor and Trevally on live baits, along the rock walls; quality Flathead around Crusoe Island and there’s heaps of Bream just inside the Jumpinpin Bar.

SUNSHINE COAST
Offshore fishing has been pretty good again; plenty of Snapper and Cobia on 12 Mile Reef, Red Throat Sweetlip and Snapper at Caloundra wide and the wider reefs have all produced plenty of Tusk Fish and Trag Jew. Inshore fishing has seen Bream and Flathead off the Boardwalk and also at the mouth of the Maroochy and Noosa Rivers, plenty of Trevally on surface lures and live bait, throughout all of the estuaries and some decent Whiting on the sand flats around the Power Boat Club.

HERVEY BAY
Long Tail Tuna and smaller Snapper on the inner reefs, Flathead, Whiting and Bream along the beaches and the Urangan jetty has been good for a few Tailor and Bream.
