BASS
Still a few Bass around at Cressbrook Dam this week; try the steeper points in the main basin and also the Bull Creek arm, while soft plastics, metal spoons and shrimp have been successful. Still a bit quiet at Somerset, with live shrimp picking up a few fish around the timber at Kirkleigh. Plenty of quality Bass up to 2kg at Boondooma this week, with suspending minnows and soft plastics cast to the edges picking up a lot of the fish, while ice jigs have worked well in the deeper water, soft plastics cast to the edges have picked up a few at Bjelke Peterson, Moogerah has seen soft plastics picking up some quality fish throughout the main basin in 25-35ft of water, it’s also worth trying around the weed edges early morning and late afternoon with suspending minnows and crank baits and Maroon Dam has produced a few fish this week, with anglers picking up some decent Bass around the weed pockets, soft plastics and crank baits are working the best, with blades also accounting for a few fish.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD
Cooby Dam has seen a few Yellowbelly taking blades and frozen saltwater yabbies in the deeper parts of the dam, while blades and soft vibes have produced a few fish around the weed edges. Reasonable numbers of Yellowbelly and Silver Perch at Coolmunda Dam this week, the drop-offs to the old creek beds and also along the rock wall have been good spots to target. Frozen saltwater yabbies and live worms have been effective for Yellowbelly at Glenlyon, with some nice Cod up to 80cm taken on spinnerbaits and trolled hard bodies. A bit quiet at Leslie Dam this week, with low numbers of Yellowbelly taking frozen saltwater yabbies in the main basin and trolled spinnerbaits accounted for a few Cod up to 75cm. Boondooma has seen good quality Yellowbelly taking frozen saltwater yabbies and live shrimp, around the timber in the Stuart River arm and Bjelke Peterson has seen a few fish taken on bait around the timber and also on trolled hard bodies in the main basin.

COASTAL FISHING
Offshore fishing has been good again at the Gold Coast, with the 18’s and 24’s east of the Seaway producing Snapper and Cobia and the northern 50’s have been good for Amberjack and bigger Snapper. Inshore fishing saw the Southport Seaway producing a few Kingies, Tailor and Trevally on live baits along the rock walls; quality Flathead and Bream throughout the Jumpinpin area and also throughout most of the estuaries at the Gold Coast. While at the Sunny Coast, offshore fishing has been pretty good again; plenty of Snapper and Cobia on 12 Mile Reef and the wider reefs have all produced plenty of Pearl Perch and Trag Jew. Inshore fishing has seen Bream and Flathead off the Boardwalk, inside the bar entrance at Caloundra and also at the mouth of the Maroochy and Noosa Rivers, plenty of Trevally on surface lures and live bait throughout all of the estuaries and some decent Whiting have been caught on the sand flats around the Power Boat Club.
