Weekly Report 11 Dec 12 - BEACHMERE

Post by Brad » Tue Dec 11, 2012 7:03 pm

Talk to Charlie or the boys from the Beachmere Sportfishing Club.
Another good week on the Caboolture River this week. Mud crabs have been scarce in the river, but they are at the mouth of Burpengary creek and in the bay. Some sand crabs at the mouth of the river on the run in tide, but be careful boating, as the professional crabbers have a lot of pots in the river. There are some good sized bream and flathead on the run in tide, from the mouth of the river to Monties. From Monties up to the bridge the odd mangrove jack is still being caught and a lot of fisho's are being broken of in the deep water by something hungry. The flathead I have seen this week have all been in the 60cm range, both on plastics, live bait, and strips of mullet. The BSFC has a competition this weekend so we will have a comprehensive report next week. Charlie. Cheers J. D.

Just a bloody shame there's too many crab pot and crab thieves in the Caboolture and Burpengary Creek, don't think we will ever waste our time on this joint again, quite disappointed to say the least when ya travel from the bush to city for some salt water fishing only to get diddled by locals, SHAME ON THEM!!!
