This area is fishing OK without breaking any records. There are good numbers of mangrove jack about at the moment and they are good quality fish at present, ranging from 2 -4kg which are pretty good fish. They are best from Elimbah creek, Bullock creek, around Glass house creek, Coochin Creek and any of those areas like Poverty creek, Hussy creek and from Mission Pt and Lime Pocket. There are a few nice whiting around and are best from Glassy and from the sand banks between Mission and the mouth of Glassy. There have been a few mulloway about and are good quality fish. They are best from Bullock creek, the 112’s and from the deep holes in the area. There are some good flathead about and are best from Gallagher’s Gutter, Tony’s gutter and from Lime Pocket and from the 112’s. There have been a few snapper around and are coming from Mission Point and from the 112’s. There are good bream around and are best from the Oyster leases, from the creek mouths, the weed beds, from the rocky bottoms, the jetty and from around the 112’s. The mud crabs are very scarce at present and the sand crabs have been non existent of late.
