With the cooler weather the Squid are well and truly in good numbers on the weed banks in the Bay and the foreshore of Cleveland, Victoria Point, Redland Bay and Manly. When fishing land based for Squid try to target well-lit areas like jetty's and Marinas. A good head lamp is essential when Squid fishing to cast your jig at the target.
Fishing the weed banks for Whiting has been very productive and while drifting be sure to have a Squid jig out the back as you will encounter Squid as well.
We are still getting reports of Spotty Mackerel. A couple of locations have been the northern side of Peel and in the Rainbow channel.
The Myora area has been fishing well for Parrot, Sweetlips and Snapper. West Peel artificial has been fishing very well over the last few weeks with consistent catches of Snapper and Jew.
Queenfish have been feeding on the bait fish in Raby Bay canals and the fore shore, surface lures have been working well with the Bassday Sugar Pen being a stand out.
We have also seen Squire up to 40cm in the canal system as well, quite common this time of year through to the end of July. Tailor are in the same area, best bait Pilchards and Bonito fillet.

Cape Moreton has been fishing well for Spanish Mackerel and King Fish - large baits have been the best, Bonito, Tailor, Mack Tuna. The small baits such as Gar and Slimmey Mackerel were not effective.
The Sevens and Middle Reef have fished well for Tusk Fish and Snapper, try the wave rider for Dolphinfish and troll the group for Wahoo with high speed skirted lures.

For the latest fishing report tune into Nugget on Logan 101 FM Saturday from 6 a.m.
