Bream, Flathead and Whiting are being caught along Cleveland esplanade and the western side of Cleveland point - some of the stand out baits have been mullet gut, live blood worms and frogmouth pilchards.
The foreshores of Victoria Point, Redland Bay and Manly are well worth an explore this time of year. Tiger Squid have been caught in good numbers in the same areas with the Yamashita Squid jigs working quite well.

The Southern Bay is fishing well for Flathead, drifting with a Pilchard as bait along the edge of a sand bank or mud flat. It is essential that the bait is on the bottom as the Flathead are a very lazy fish, the bait has to be on the bottom to work effectively.

Spotty Mackerel have been caught in the Northern Bay on float lining pilchards and casting metal slugs.
Snapper and Jew have been on the bite at the artificial reefs on an outgoing tide in the evening - best bait has been whiting, garfish and mullet fillet.
Main beach on North Stradbroke Island has been fishing well for Tailor and Dart, the Tailor have been quality fish and the best bait for the larger fish has been bonito fillet - best bait for Dart has been beach worm and pipies.

Offshore this week we have seen good catches of Pearl Perch, Snapper and Parrotfish - float lining has been the best method of getting a result. When float lining, use an egg or bean sinker and for the best result Ice Blue mono line 35lb is our recommendation.

For the latest fishing reports tune into Nugget on Logan 101 FM Saturday from 6 a.m.
