Weekly Report 13/9/13

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Sep 13, 2013 3:45 pm

Rain last 7 days: 0.0 mm
Water level current: 51.9 %
Water level: 04/09/13 51.2 %
Current discharge: 457 ML per day.
Current inflow: 1417 ML per day.
Water visibility: up to 2.5 metres
Forecast Weather: Showers predicted for the weekend once again. Temps 6°-20°.
Full Moon = Sep 19th New Moon = Oct 5th
Water Temperature: 16°-17.5°
Murray Cod: Closed season until Dec 1.
Yellowbelly: I have had some very good reports from further up the Murrumbidgee River around Hume Park. Trolling small hardbodies has been producing some very good results with most boats picking up their bag limit in a short time. There were some very good-sized fish among them. Down our end of the dam the yellows have not begun to fire so much as yet. The water would be warmer further up the rivers. Bait fishing around Scrubby on trees is still producing the odd fish. The river campers bait fishing through the night are doing best at the lower end of the dam. I did speak to a couple of fishermen who managed to pick up 4 yellows on the cast with spinnerbaits last weekend during the day.
Redfin: Starting to hear of a few fish being picked up on the troll and cast. Again water temperature needs to be a couple of degrees higher.
Trout: No reports this week. It has been a very quiet year for trout.
Silver perch: No reports this week
Park news: The new camp kitchen and the 2 new cottages will be on line this weekend and just in time for the school holidays. All the amenities have had the painting completed inside and works have commenced on the outside.
