Murray Cod
Fishing has been slow going with a lot of fisherman reporting no captures. However there were several good fish over 80cm caught during the weekend. Trolling big spinnerbaits is working the best. There have also been some fish being caught on bait after dark.

The Goodradigbee River Arm is starting to produce some good fish. With the rising water covering the trees once again it is also easier to navigate the river. I have also heard a story of 2 fish over a metre being caught by one fisherman during the last few weeks. That would make 3 for the month. The Goodradigbee River suffers from fishing pressure from illegal set lines and from fishermen taking more than their allowed 2 fish. Illegal fishing can be reported by phoning 1800 043 536.

Yellow Belly
It looks like the yellow belly have finally gone off the bite. The bait and lure fishermen are reporting very tough going during the past week. There haven’t been too many fish appearing in the fish cleaning bins. Bait fishing after dark with worms is seeing a few fish being caught.

There is the odd small fish being caught on the troll mostly. No big ones and not in large numbers.
